Paul Chek

This video is from Underground Wellness's Youtube page. It covers a bit about where protein shakes and bars comes from and also gives a few brands that he kind of trusts knowing that people are always looking for an alternative to real food.

This means that I am not a big fan of protein shakes and bars but I also am realistic and know that you will go behind my back and use them anyways so that being the case, I would rather have some healthier alternatives that you will hopefully keep to a minimum. I'm talking, running super late, a once a week break from eggs in the morning, etc. Just because they are healthier doesn't mean they aren't harmful. They are harmful to weight loss and body composition changes.

Also read these articles on whey protein as well as other ideas on a holistic approach to nutrition and lifestyle:

Deconstructing Paul Chek

These are good reads. They are kind of long but I have always revered Paul Chek because of his simplistic approach to how a person should live. He states that he doesn't have to go to church because he is the church. That shows his self love and the steps he takes to make sure he is preserving the temple that is his body and mind.

We often make excuses for why we can't do something such as eating better. We say we don't have the will power or that it's too expensive or we give up too early because we are not seeing the weight come off. Changing your nutrition is much more than weight loss. It is about changing how you think about eating and wanting to be educated on how you eat and where your food comes from.

It's about the long term. We have to stop worrying about what we look like and start to worry more about what we are doing to our world and how it is affecting us physically, mentally, and spiritually. We must focus our efforts on demanding better food from better food sources. We must stop referring to the fact that oh he or she is skinny and can get away with eating anything or what it would be like to be a child again where we could eat anything and get away with it. These are very ignorant statements and it is killing our children and ourselves.

Take care of the one thing that no one can ever take away from you. YOU! Stop making excuses. Stop looking for shortcuts. Be able find out where your food is coming from or don't eat it. Try really hard to eat only organic produce and free-range meat and eggs.
