Today's post starts out with a recipe for those of you that need to be getting in more protein but are having trouble with the whole lots of eggs in the morning thing. I know Kat uses this recipe already and some others have given them a try. I bet some of you can dominate eggs this way. You can play around with your own version to try and make it fit your likes and needs. They freeze well to last quite a while and in the fridge, they probably last 3 or 4 days. Just another way to help with the preparation issue that some of us have.
This recipe is from Sarah who is a CrossFit coach in NorCal. She has a wonderful site that gives people an opportunity to play around with the same foods but showing different ways of preparing them. Give these eggs a try and see if they help with the problem of not being able to eat enough protein in the morning.

If you haven't already watched some of the videos from the last post, please do. There is some great information. I would have never known about Kombucha tea and its many benefits if it wasn't for Garage Strength. I was in Hy-Vee the other day picking up some coconut milk and I noticed that they carried Kombucha tea. I gave it the eyeball test to check for ingredients and what not and determined that this brand was reputable and the drink was solid. This is cool because you know don't have to make your own, although learning how would be a good tool to have in your toolbox.
Kombucha is a very healthy, and I think, necessary part of anyone's diet. It is a fermented drink that contains live pro-biotic cultures. Kind of like yogurt but better and without the dairy. This drink is all about gut flora and your internal ecosystem. For some of you, this may be the golden ticket to revving up the results. As I have mentioned to you, there are a lot of things that go into making a nutritional lifestyle change work to your advantage. The eating part is only the major part but it is definitely not the only part.
Some of you are seeing great changes and some of you are seeing the progress but it has been kind of slow to your liking. This has to do with cleaning up the rest of the equation. You seem to have the food part down for the most part but now we need to look at sleep and cortisol production. Cortisol is a hormone that is needed but in large doses can wreak havoc on a lot of things in the body. Most noticeably for you, it can put a complete halt to feeling, performing, and looking better. Two of the main areas that can be controlled by you are sleep and stress. These two areas are horribly neglected by a lot of people. You can have the greatest nutritional plan in the world and if you producing adequate amounts of cortisol due to lack of sleep or high stress, you will not see the results you want or at least, they will come at a turtle pace.
Another area that may cause the body composition changes to speed up, the lethargic feeling during the day to go away, and the performance in the gym to go up is your absorption of key vitamins and minerals from the paleolithic foods you are eating. Think of it as a vending machine that takes paper money along with coins. You put in your dollar but it keeps spitting it out. Now think of doing this for an hour in the hopes of getting your vended item but to no luck. You have the right money but it just isn't taking it. This is kind of the same thing inside of your body but in your case, you can't see the dollar or don't realize the dollar is being spit out. It may be affecting your results and don't even realize it.
This is where the Kombucha can help you. It contains over 1 billion Lactobacillus Bacterium and S. Boulardii live pro-biotic cultures, live active enzymes, polyphenols, and organic acids that the body uses to aid in improving digestion, skin and hair, vitamin and mineral absorption, detoxifying, and many other other bodily functions that I know you will appreciate.
Read as much information as you can about Kombucha tea and I recommend you add it to your nutritional plan. Like I mentioned, you can buy it at Hy-Vee and they have the whole line at Whole Foods. The brand is GT's and was created by GT Dave when he was a kid as a result of his mother's bout with breast cancer and eventually her victory over breast cancer. He has since been making it and the company that was born is very successful. There are two versions of his Kombuchas. One is 100% raw, unpasteurized Kombucha tea and the other is called Synergy which is 95% raw, unpasteurized Kombucha with 5% fruit juice. They both come in different, for lack of a better term, flavors.
When you pick up a bottle, you will see floaties. Do not fret, this is the live culture in your tea. The Kombucha is also fermented so there is a trace amount of alcohol that may be present and finally, it is effervescent, so it tastes carbonated. It is a really strong elixir. Some of you may not like it at first but as I mentioned, there are many flavors for you to try.
Check out GT Dave's website and hop on over to Whole Foods or Hy-Vee (health market) and pick yourself up a bottle. You won't be disappointed in the benefits of adding Kombucha to your life.

And, oh yeah, get some more sleep and don't sweat the small stuff. Following this advice can really speed up results.
